it is small

red

devastating

.

it will kill

destroy

cause suffering

.

yet a hand is drifting toward it

a key held in the fingers

ready to unlock the case above it

with a twist

.

the case is lifted up

a finger is outstretched

a forefinger

.

depress

.

release

.

goodbye.
