Power, Corruption and Lies
Saint Stephen's tower shakes as Big Ben strikes the hour.
In the depths below, civil servants scurry,
Closing down department doors as they hurry.
Spin doctors work their magic,
Preparing for the next performance.
The marionettes come on, arguing their latest causes.
Time for the photo shoots.
Cutting ribbons,
And kissing babies.
When all along, it's power, corruption and lies.
They're stealing from the poor and giving to the rich,
Fiddling with expenses
To build big fences,
Bringing in austerity measures
While they build up their treasures.
It's power, corruption and lies.
