The Last Time I Saw Her
In my creative writing class we had to choose a phrase and write a story based on the phrase using only one syllable words. This is what I wrote.
The last time I saw her, she had tears in her eyes. Her hands were on her face. "What's wrong?" I asked. She jumped. She had not seen me arrive.
"Go," she told me.
"I want to help," I said.
"I don't want your help."
"Just tell me what's wrong."
"I don't want to talk 'bout it."
"You can tell me. We're friends."
She ran. She burst out the door and into the woods. I ran a few feet back from her. She tripped through the woods, shrubs would cut her legs. I kept a good pace. She must have lost a lot of blood, her heart had to beat fast from the speed she ran.
We soon reached a wide deep stream. She could not swim. I knew she'd stop. But she did not stop, she leaped from the bank in the stream. I stopped at the bank and just watched. The stream was rough, too rough for me to go in and save her.
