A year after Eternal Flame

The circle were gathering at a campfire in the forest of Augusta, they were in the mourning week as the news has just come of the death of Skyler Grey and Tara Vincent's grandfather Leonard Nightshadow, just ten hours ago after the circle has heard of the news, he was one of the last Elders alive, the moderators of the rules of magic and the servants of their leader Alador, the great wizard and their idol so they would have to keep a watch out for themselves for this year. They have been staying at the safe house for about four months

The circle members; Isabel Cortez, Adele Wilson, Jenny Blackwell, Kirsty Taylor, Kevin Green, Darren Perry, Paul Snowdon and Jeff Vernon were watching the burning orange-yellow fire in the campfire, it's the first circle meeting they have had since all of them have turned eighteen apart from Kirsty, who's birthday is today so it's unfair that she was the youngest member of the circle but was more mature than the other members.

The fire was still alight, Skyler and Tara were close to each other, the face of Kevin was not convinced as what he had witnessed last year as he saw them break one of the most sacred rules in their world, never practice the black arts and they did.

He felt overwhelmed inside, feeling the shame of knowing the secret that ate him up for the past three months of knowing it, he was clutching onto his stomach as the guilt was like World War II in there so he turned around, away from the faces of the people he lived with for the last few months.

The reason for all of them being together is because of a fire that erupted in their school which killed most of their classmates and teachers in the incident, it must have been a supernatural incident as there was no evidence of it being caused by man as there was no petrol, matches or a lighter left behind.

The circle was around the campfire since eight in the morning but now it was ten as the fire was out. They were just hazing, looking at the beauty of the pure azure blue sky while lying down.

Darren and Jeff started playing cards again, together as always, Jenny was always looking at herself in her pocket-sized mirror in her own vanity, Kirsty was on her IPod listening to The Donnas or The Runaways, Skyler was reading his copy of An Interview of the Vampire as Tara is reading her copy of Dracula but Paul was asleep on his back so Isabel wondered what Paul was dreaming about so she was looking at Kevin who's fingers are deeply interested in the earth beneath him so his fingers were always brown and muddy so she ignored him.

Kevin knew it was wrong to look at other girls but the way he looked at Isabel was not cheating on Adele, he had this profound feeling to protect her from Skyler, Tara and their evils.

The atmosphere was tense, saddened and in shatters, they were all so quiet and never talking to each other. Skyler and Tara were not upset, not crying or being emotional; it's just the way they have been raised, to think that emotions are for the weak and sedimental.
