Just a little unhappy poem about obsession. I seem to be writing rather unhappy things about love, lately.Rated: Fiction T - English - Horror/Tragedy - Words: 155 - Reviews: 1 - Favs: 1 - Published: 02-05-13 - Status: Complete - id: 3098650

I will light your darkness,
With the very stars of heaven,
He promised her –
And she believed him, and gave her heart.
I will clothe you in my love,
When you are broken, naked, and ugly,
He pledged –
And she believed him, and gave her body.
I will be your conscience,
To guide you on uncertain paths,
He vowed to her –
And she believed him, and gave her mind.
I will give you roses,
When your days are grey and full of rain,
He whispered in her ear –
And she believed him, and gave her soul.
I will hold you tightly,
In your blackest hours,
He swore to her –
And she believed him, and let him wrap her in chains.
I will take everything,
That you have ever loved and wanted,
He said to her –
And she saw him, and found herself in a cage of her own making.
