Written across my heart
Are the words of my soul.
May I ask you this, though,
Do you care enough to look that deep?
Do you want to see the
Past of who I used to be?
Do you really want to be
Proved wrong of who I am?
Do you really want to know
Who I really am inside?
If so I can give you this challenge
To actually try and know me.
To actually take a hammer
And break down these walls.
Chunk by chunk you'll finally scratch
Just beneath the surface
And you'll understand that I am no different.
You'll get the simple fact
That like you I have invisible scars.
Also, like you, I hide behind
A mask of who I am not
But rather who I wish to be.
