I'm standing alone on the rocky, raised edge of the water gazing lazily
at my surroundings. Like a mirror reflecting the shadows of a cloud covered
sky the iron body of water whispers the hush of early morning. The glassy translucent window of water, it barely crawls giving me glimpses of its deep
bottom groaning from the early morning wake up call. The sub-zero water is
waiting for the thaw of spring and the return of its regular days of tepid
temperature. This lovely lucid lake stands as a border for the prickly
trees. Pale Paris petty pines as still as guards of Buckingham palace await
the sight of their Queen. The jagged dwarf pines give off luscious scents of
car fresheners. Feel the movement of the swaying dead tree out for one more
dance before the crack and brake of this grandfather pine. Hear the clatter
of one of these robust pines fall to the ground.
See the rocks uncovered by snow look like the scrape of a child's knee
when he falls on the playground. Colour of Cobalt with an edge of chalky pearl the
pointed colossal mountains echo a far off cry. The rugged mountains tall as
Olympus made by the gods with dustings of powdered sugar with light dancing
over it like fireflies in the dark of night. A powder blue sky filled with
oleander clouds lined with periwinkle borders the colossal rough mountains. Spreading
through the sky like a wildfire on a hot summer's day the clouds float. All
the waves of clouds bringing the threat of rain like a finger of soldier on
the trigger of a gun.
Hear the wind rush through the trees like a restless sea. Feel the peace
in the blanket of quiet hush that's upon you. It's a little piece of heaven
disturbed by the chirp of a flying, scarlet animal whipping past your eyes as
you strain to see the rainbow swimmers in the frigged water of the west.
There is also a melancholy feeling of having to leave a place so attractive to look at,
like a tall dark handsome underwear model in a billboard in time square.
Bright lights of the city are nothing compared to the radiance of this
astonishing sight before me, it makes me long for the meeting of tomorrow
when I stand on my rocky rugged raised ledge and dream of the time when I
behold this sight again.
As I leave a heartfelt sigh escapes my lips when I spot the footprint of
a lovable rabbit as it hops away from the underbrush to my left and away to
a fate of who knows what. I drive away from my little slice of paradise
sealed away from anyone up in the mountains of the gods to stay forever more
as a picture on my calendar.
