Prologue:

You might think it's a myth, but no, it's one hundred percent true. If you've never heard our story, I guess I'll tell you.

I'm the oldest of twelve girls. We were all named after a month in the year. Of course our parents named us like that because our last name is Yearly. Since I'm first, obviously my name is January.

You might have heard the version of our story, The Twelve Dancing Princesses. But that is totally false. We were far from being princesses. Actually, we were commoners. Poor commoners. Regular, normal girls. Except for the fact that there were so many of us. That made us look a little weird. Just a little.

Nothing about us was all that mysterious. And I don't know who came up with those underground passageways to dancing worlds stuff. None of us have ever been underground.

We lived in Kanesly. Kanesly was run by King Samuel and Queen Lana. We lived in a town where you never expected miracles. Until one happened.
