Once upon a time there was a female fairy named Sparkle. She's the size of a human and has long red hair that grew down to her back. She wore a light blue dress and red slippers and held her trusty magic wand in her hand while also having learned all kinds of spells. Her wings are a bright silver color. She had just befriended a fire breathing dragon who had silver scales and a dark blue underbelly. "Oh, dragon..." she called. "I need to run an errand...will you please come with me?" she requested. The dragon got up to stretch and replied "No...i'm too lazy...get it yourself". "Hey yes you are! You're coming with me and that's final!" she requested again. "I don't feel like it..." the dragon groaned. "Don't make me tickle you!" Sparkle said, poking the dragon's underbelly with her wand. "HEE!" the dragon giggled and jumped up. "Okay, okay! I'll go!" the dragon said, giggling. "Good dragon." Sparkle said, scratching his chin.

"Now let's get going...I need you to go to the haunted forest with me to get some herbs." she said. "H-h-haunted forest? But, but..." the dragon whimpered. "Oh come on now. You're not scared are you?" she asked, tilting her head. "Yes I am...I'm scared of ghosts, monsters, and creepy crawly things..." the dragon replied, whimpering badly. "Awww but will you be brave and go in with me? I'll be here." said Sparkle. The dragon looked at her with a frowning face and said "Well...sure I guess...I'll try to be brave...". Sparkle went with the dragon inside the haunted forest. It was dark with tall spooky overgrown trees. "See? It's not so bad now is it?" Sparkle said, giggling and not showing fear. "Yes it is...Sparkle, I'm scared..." the dragon whimpered and couldn't help but shiver. "Aww don't be frightened. There's nothing to be scared of." She said to the dragon. "You don't think so..?" the dragon asked. As soon as he asked that question, he looked to his right and saw what looked like a spooky tree with a spooky face. "AHHH! MONSTER!" the dragon screamed and hid behind a bush. "What are you so scared of? That's no monster!" Sparkle said, shining a light from her wand on the tree. "See, it's just a tree. Nothing to be scared of." Sparkle explained. The dragon came out shaking to see what it really was. "Oh...thank goodness..." the dragon sighed with relief and continued to walk with Sparkle when they heard a hissing noise.

"AHHH! WHO'S THERE?!" the dragon screamed again. "Shhh...it's okay. Don't be so loud." Sparkle said. A female red and black snake slithered up to both of them. "Greetingssss...what bringssss a dragon and a fairy to this foresssstttt?" said the snake. "Oh...we came here looking for herbs..." Sparkle replied, while the dragon looked scared stiff. "Herbssss? Hmm...I know where they are, but here'sssss the thing..." the snake whispered, slithering up the dragon's neck and curling around it. "There'ssss a tale of a big sssscary creature that guardssss the herbssss...an oversizzzzed bat if you will...he has a frightening sssstare and a loud sssscreech that will sssscare you ssstiff...and he feedssss on your fear..." the snake whispered, with an evil laugh afterwards. "AHHH! SPARKLE I'M SCARED! I WANNA GO HOME!" Sparkle screamed with fear. "Hey, you leave him alone you mean snake! He's scared enough already!" Sparkle yelled. "Awww a frightened dragon? How cute...oh fine. I'll leave him alone. But I'm warning you, if you try and get these herbs, fear will come..." the snake said, hissing and slithering away.

"Come on, dragon. Let's go." Sparkle said, nudging him. "I don't wanna go...it's too scary!" the dragon cried, laying down and covering his face with his wings. She signed and sat on the dragon's snout. "Look at you. You're a dragon! A big scary fire breathing dragon! A real brave dragon wouldn't show fear! He'd laugh in the face of danger and roar! Come on, dragon! Can you give me a roar?" Sparkle cheered. "Roooaaarrr..." the dragon said, sounding uninterested. "Come on! I know you can do it! Dig deep down inside you...and roar as loud as you can!" she cheered again. The dragon then stood up, took a deep breath, and made a loud ROOOOAAAAARRRR! It felt good inside for him to roar as all his fears went away. After he stopped roaring, he laughed. "You're right, sparkle. What's to be afraid of? I'm a mighty fire breathing dragon! I show no fear!" he roared proudly. "That's the spirit. Now let's get those herbs. It's time to face your fear!" Sparkle said, as she went to find the herbs. "Here they are!" Sparkle exclaimed. But before she could grab the herbs, a giant bat landed down and grabbed Sparkle with its talons. "Let go of me! NOW!" Sparkle yelled, punching at the bat's talons. "Hey! You leave her alone! No one hurts my best friend!" the dragon roared and breathed his dragon fire, causing the bat to screech and fly away, dropping Sparkle. "AAAAHHH!" Sparkle screamed as she fell but then the dragon caught her, keeping her safe and sound. They watched the bat fly away screeching in fear of the dragon. "You see, dragon? He's more afraid of you than you are of him! I knew you could do it!" Sparkle said proudly. "Yes I did! Look at me! I'm a big scary dragon! Roooaaarrr!" the dragon roared, standing proud. Sparkle giggled and picked some herbs. "Alright dragon, let's get going! I needed these herbs for my recipe!" Sparkle said. The dragon nodded and they both walked out of the forest together.

Back at home, Sparkle congratulated the dragon for his newfound courage by making a big medal around his neck just for him. He had never felt so proud in his life. "Awww thank you Sparkle! This means much to me! I feel like a mighty dragon already!" he said proudly. "Now don't you get carried away now." Sparkle giggled at him. "I'm a mighty dragon! You should fear me!" He roared. "You silly dragon! Why should I fear you?" Sparkle giggled and tickles the dragon's tummy with her fingernails. "Ahahaha no fair! That tickles!" the dragon laughed and fell down, laying on his stomach. "Awww...you're so cute. Hey...it's getting late. Bedtime for you!" Sparkle said. "Awwwr...I was having fun!" the dragon whined. "Yes but you need your sleep. You had a big day today." Sparkle said, rubbing the dragon's neck tenderly to calm him down. "Oh, oh, ohhh yeah...that's the spot..." the dragon moaned, calming down and resting. "Goodnight, dragon..." Sparkle whispered, and then sung a lullaby to lull him to sleep. "Sleep tight..." she said, petting his head. She walked upstairs to put her nightgown on and crawled into her own bed, sound asleep with the lights turned off. And all was quiet in the house, not a creature stirred except for the chirping crickets that stuck into her home.
