Crystal Keeper
(In a house on a farm, a father tucks his young daughter, Evana, in bed.)
Young Evana: Papa? Would you tell me a bedtime story?
Father: Evana, it's getting late.
Young Evana: Please, Papa? I promise I'll go to bed as soon as you're done.
Father: Funny. That's what you said last time.
Young Evana: But I mean it this time. Please? Just one story, Papa? Pretty please?
Father: All right. All right. You're like your mother: always getting what you want.
(YOUNG EVANA GIGGLES)
Father: Let's see here. (Clears Throat) Long ago, up in the mountains lived the Rosario Clan. This clan was full of civilized creatures known as werewolves: half man, half wolf that lived in secret peacefully. Now, there was their king who had two sons: one good and one bad. Before the king died, he chose the good son to rule over the clan, but the bad brother was jealous for he wanted to be king and left the clan in fury. Time passed and the clan still lived in peace. Suddenly, the clan was attacked by the bad brother and his army of black magic wolves called Shadows. The two clans went to battle with one another with the two brothers leading them. However, the good brother fought with a magic crystal that was given to him from previous king before him and with that, the brother was defeated for good. Unfortunately, the good brother died in battle and the crystal was lost forever, but the clan still lived in peace; even to this day.
Young Evana: But what about the crystal, papa?
Father: It's still lost. No one has ever found it, but one person, according to legends, has the power to revive the crystal and use it to protect the clan.
Young Evana: Who, papa? Who?
Father: It's one of life's mysteries, my dear. Now, go to sleep.
(Her father kisses her on the forehead and leaves the room.)
Father: Good night, Evana.
Young Evana: Good night, Papa.
(DOOR CLOSES)
(Evana quickly gets out of bed and runs to the window; looking at the full moon in the sky.)
Young Evana: I wonder if werewolves do exist.
(WOLF HOWLS)
