I really enjoy figure skating, and I was watching a few of the ice dancers this weekend and I really wanted to express my emotions towards the sport in a poem! Dedicated to all those wonderful ice skaters in the Olympics 2010 Vancouver! Reviews are EXTREMELY appreciated! :D

ICE DANCER

Ice dancer, full of elegance and poise

Standing calmly as the crowd begins to quiet their noise.

The music proclaims the dance's start,

Beating in time with the skater's heart

A spin, a jump, a glide,

The crowd is awed on every side

But the ice dancer in her own world,

Where not a sound is heard

To her the jumps and spins are very clear,

And she executes them without fear.

The audience is enchanted,

With the gift this ice dancer has been granted

Slowly but surely the music ends

but not the message the ice dancer sends

That for this ice dancer,

The ice is the only answer…
