A/N: Hello, and welcome to my first story. I published this out of season, but who cares? Enjoy!
In a huff, Archon stormed into her stable. Her first day at Reindeer School was a disaster. She tried to fly, like her fellow yearlings, but she failed. Andantino wasn't there in the act. Natalie Elvette was an elf, not a reindeer. Elves knew nothing about flying. So her friends didn't know that Archon was flightless. Soon, her mother found Archon lying down on the pile of hay. "What's wrong, Archon?" she asked.
Archon confessed, "I got kicked out of Reindeer School! How can I be a helpful reindeer, now that I'm flightless?" Her mother sat by Archon, putting a hoof on her fawn's shoulder. "Archon, it's normal. Some flightless reindeer are actually late bloomers. Eventually, they learn to fly. But others don't."
"What if I never learn how to fly?"
"Not everyone is good at everything, especially what they're required to do so. Maybe you are good at something, but not that."
Amazed at such wise words, Archon looked up to her mother.
A week later, Archon's parents went missing. While the search party went on, Rudolph, Archon's cousin, took care of her. Archon remembered those wise words by heart. Soon, Natalie and Andantino's parents went missing also! It was only the twentieth of December. It was only four days before Christmas Eve, and they had a great part to do on that day.
"But, what if they are still not found?" asked Natalie.
"Don't worry, we will find them." Rudolph assured her.
Rudolph left Andantino and Archon in Natalie's cabin. The cabin felt crispy, as the fire warmed up the cabin. Natalie was lonely, so Rudolph brought the two reindeer to her. They played some games, but Archon worried about something-would they still be friends with her, even if she's flightless?
