The Girl in the Mask
Author:

This is a poem that I wrote randomly one day. It was inspired off my friends status which said: "Love me, Hate me, but you don't know me".

Love me, Hate me,

But you will never know,

The secrets I keep,

Or the treasures I know.

All you'll ever see is hate,

Only seeing the Demon,

But all you see is the mask,

The Angel's mask of old.

Love me, Hate me,

All you'll ever know,

Is the ugliness beneath,

Not the beauty foretold.

All you're ever hear,

Is the rumors and lies,

Turning a deaf ear,

On the truth inside.

Love me, Hate me,

All you'll ever see

All you'll ever know,

Is the rat you think me to be.

You'll never see the eagle,

Wise and strong.

You'll never know the lion,

Bold and daring.

You'll never hear the tiger,

Release a mighty roar from within.

You'll never realize the panther I am,

Hiding in the shadows.

Love me, Hate me,

All you'll ever see,

All you'll ever know,

Is the beast you see,

Not the girl in the mask of gold.
