Life is the Rain
Author:

This is something I wrote last week. It has to do with a bunch of drama I've been having with my friends. This one is kind of supposed to be about how life can change, similar to the rain, and how its natural and you decide whether to embrace the change or hold on to the past.

Life is the rain,

Fast coming,

But shortly over,

Leaving but a puddle behind.

It can change,

In a heartbeat,

With the wind guiding

And directing.

It can be calm,

Dull and boring,

Or a raging storm,

Lively and eventful.

It can last for ages,

Seemingly never ending,

Or it can be cut short,

Long before its time.

At any rate,

There is an end,

Leaving the sun to dawn

On a new beginning.

It leaves a puddle behind,

A legacy if you will,

And it's up to you,

How big a splash you'll make.

Will your rain be short,

A small puddle left,

Soon to dry,

And be forgotten?

Or, will your rain be long,

Leaving flowing rivers,

Telling your tale,

Forging new waterways.

Will you be dull,

Or will you be lively?

Will you let opportunity pass,

Or will you face it head on?

Will you create your own fate,

Changing what you must,

Accepting what goes wrong,

Forging a new path?

Or will you follow the herd,

Letting fate be your maker,

Denying your mistakes or faults,

And taking a beaten path?

Will you learn to change,

With the whispering wind,

And leave your own trail,

A rainbow in the midst.

Or will you deny life,

Choosing to stay sheltered,

Ignore the beauty of nature,

And the beauty of choice.
