Chapter One

The Thief

"Stop her!" The guards yelled.

At that point, I couldn't help but laugh. These guards were so thick and here I am five feet in front of them, running.

Yes, I'm a thief. I steal stuff. Well, I BARROW it. But they always jump to conclusions. I mean, everyone thinks that girls can't steal stuff. They think all girls care about is painting their nails and how cute BOYS are. Yeah, I'm the opposite.

Anyway, I yelled behind me,"You'll never ketch me!"

But they never listen.

Instead, they started shooting their guns.

Ugh. Men.

I kept running, my bleached blonde hair flapping in the wind. Up the gravel road. Then there was a sort of low bridge. I slid under it swiftly and made a right and then I stopped. I looked behind me. The guards weren't there. They had kept running straight.

I laughed."Really smart, boys."I muttered smiling.

Then I looked around. I wasn't on the gravel road anymore. I was in the woods.

Perfect.

I started walking again. I knew where I was going. Madame Nightshade's cabin.

She was sort of my "master" if you want to call it that.

"Come in, Raven."

I opened the door. Madame Nightshade had on her mysterious, blue cloak."Done well, Ms. Locket, I trust?"

I nodded and handed her the small bag I had slung around my shoulder. She opened it and smiled. Madame Nightshade pulled out diamond necklace from the castle."Very good."

"What next, Madame Nightshade."I asked.

She tilted her head."Oh, Raven, There is one thing...but it's too...complicated."

I crossed my arms."I can do it!"

"Ok." Madame Nightshade said."You have to kill the prince."
