There once was a small bird,

Colored of silvers, blues and greens,

The most beautiful bird anyone had ever seen.

No one could own this bird,

Just keep it away,

And stare at it day by day.

It lured people in,

With beautiful song,

Till someone came along.

This bird was crafty,

Though it sang with beauty,

And danced so cutely.

It always wanted the best,

It ate the seeds of gold,

and left behind the rest to mold.

It flew about the cage,

Its wings fluttering fast,

Till at night it settled at last.

Any other bird you brought in,

Would be slain,

For the bird would mame.

It would take from you,

And give so little,

And do nothing to your money but whittle.

The bird would boast,

Puffing its feathers out,

And let its voice travel bout.

A few months would pass,

Soon the bird would tire of you,

And find a way out of your little zoo.

It'd open the cage,

To fly away,

Leaving you to pray,

For the bird to come home safe,

To pray for your little waif.

The bird will not come,

Itll be miles away,

Singing away,

Day by day.

People will listen,

To this beautiful bird,

And enjoying what they heard,

Will take it home,

And place her in a cage of chrome.

For her to sing her songs,

And steal her feed,

To dance and puff,

To kill the ones prettier,

To weave her lies,

To say her goodbyes...
