I don't know how long I had slept but soon I woke to cold stone against my back and I couldn't move. I opened my eyes and looked around. I saw more and more stone and I knew we had reached the temple Grace had told me about.

Closer to me, I saw candles. They formed a circle around me and at each point were candles different from the rest. A green candle sat at my feet, red to my left, water to my right. I didn't know what sat where my head was because I couldn't see it.

Grace hummed and placed a purple candle on my chest, unlit. "Kara, relax and listen to my words. Let them guide you through the spirit world to find your wings." She smiled softly. "Close your eyes and imagine lighting a purple candle."

Behind my eyes, all I could see was blackness. In my hand was a candle, I lit it with the lighter I found in my other hand and the area around me burst into clarity. A beautiful rainforest stood before her. "Let your instincts guide you and let the candle become your guide." Her voice faded as the candle morphed into a Wolf.

It spoke to her in Grace's voice at first. "Welcome to the spirit world angel." I didn't even stop to think about the fact that a wolf was talking to me and I let my instincts lead me into the rainforest.

The wolf walked beside me and when it spoke I almost fell over I was so startled. It no longer sounded like Grace. "This is the forest of memories. All your lives join together here to show you the path to who you are and what you believe." After he spoke I looked around and I saw images imbedded in the trees and I felt the need to stop so I followed it. The images swirled around me and thousands of lives flashed before my eyes.

You know when they say you see your life flash before your eyes in times of danger I don't think they ever realized that this was the true life flash before your eyes. Every soul has so many live attached to it. There are so many realms and a version of each soul exists in all of them. This is what shocked me the most. Even though it is the same soul, I even had different personalities at some points but you know certain traits were always there. Courage, love, trust and bravery were in every life I saw.

I realized then that those traits were what made me who I was and those would be the traits I lived with my entire life for the rest of time.

Grace watched as Kara closed her eyes and submerged herself into a world only she had. Grace could only watch now as Kara became an angel and put behind her the "Kara" that she was now. If her journey was anything like Grace's was Kara might even lose that name.

Grace smiled and watched the girl. The candle on Kara's chest glowed brighter than any she had seen before. She was proud of the strong, brave girl her daughter had grown to be. She was sad that she was unable to have seen Kara grow into the women she was now and wondered if Kara would do more than destroy Shadow. She might have the power to change things in the angel world as well but before she can do all that Grace would have to lead her, be her mother and show her the truth and the first step was letting her find her path through the spirit realm to the wings of fate.

What happens, for now, is in her hands and hers alone.

I sat down a moment as I watched the memories play out before me and I smiled and laughed at the good time, cried at the bad. Even though she had not lived these moments consciously she still felt connected to them in a way that appalled her.

Something didn't feel right through and then I heard the wolf growl. My memories all rushed to me and wrapped me in a glowing embrace, forcing their way into my soul. Then I saw it. Something I knew instinctively should not exist here.

A grotesque creature floated before me and it boiled and was misshapen. My heart skipped a beat, if that is even possible at this point. It opened its mouth and black sludge poured out onto the ground where it steamed and gurgled. I stepped back in disgust and didn't know what to do.

I had to find a way to destroy this vile creature before it infected the safety of this plane of existence any further. "For the future angels I will stop you!" a sword appeared in my hand. It had a golden hilt and pure silver blade. It seemed to float in my hand; maybe it did because it just felt like nothing was in my hand at all. It glowed bright and free as if my soul was wrapped around it or the sword was made of it.

The creature made a terrible sound as if it was laughing with the gurgling black liquid bubbling in its throat. I would have puked if I was able to. Then it moved with speed faster than I ever could have dreamed. I couldn't follow it but a voice spoke in my mind. Close your eyes, don't try to follow it. Imagine that sword of yours cutting it in two. The sword will do as you tell it. Trust me!

I closed my eyes and pictured the mutated thing and threw the sword and I called out "destroy it!" I opened my eyes and saw the sword smash into the creature and the creature burst into flames. It seemed too easy though and I watched carefully not once letting my guard down until the wolf relaxed.

I walked on sword in hand from the forest of memories and out into a open space where all you could see was a lake with a small island on it that seemed oddly familiar. When I looked over at the wolf, I realized he was no longer there and I was alone. I sat down and wondered where I had seen this setting before and my eyes widened. I had conjured up the lake from the warriors series.

I then knew what I had to do. I had to get to four trees before the sun fell, there I might find what I am looking for. I ran as fast as my human feet would carry me and I reached the island with very little light. It was a full moon I could sense it in every inch of my being and this was not where I belonged. I walked across the log being careful not to slip and I saw a shimmer in the middle where the leaders would sit to share the goings on I bolted for it and jumped through into another seen from a story I had read. Not only that though this one I had written.

A city sat in front of me with pixy dust and butterflies hanging in the air. It was everything I imagined it to be. Nicky raced out and met me. She paused to look around and then ran to me. "I will guide you here on out angel. As I am already an angel form of you I know where you must go. That wolf never did his job for me either so I will lead you."

She raised her hands into the sky and her wings unfolded behind her. She grabbed my hand and we flew through the skies past the edge of the world I had wandered in my writings.

"Kalmin, I didn't know you were real."

"Everything is real darling. The writer's portal is a powerful thing." She flew ever faster and suddenly stopped. "Dam." She shot strait up into the sky toward the heavens.

"Kara what do you feel the strongest about. What would you be willing to fight for and give up your soul for?" Nicky asked as we sored ever higher.

"Love, everyone deserves to feel love and no being can ever take that from a soul or you are condemning it to becoming a shell of a true being."

"Good now think of that and nothing else alright. I will be right here." She let go of my hand and I began to fall at a speed faster than I would ever have wanted to.

I was scared to death but I thought of those I loved and how they all deserved to feel the same, how my mom and dad should not be condemned for that because they truly belong with one another. I thought of how I deserved to be able to fall in love and how love is the only real thing that matters in the world.

I felt myself begin to slow. I felt calm and determined and I opened my eyes and looked down as I continued to fall. "Nothing will stop me from fighting not even destruction!" my descent froze and I was jerked back into the air even higher then I was before.

What just happened? I remember thinking and then a searing pain burst from my back.

Nicky grabbed hold of my arm and stabilized me. The pain got stronger and stronger until I was sure I was going to explode into a thousand pieces.

Grace started at the scream of pain that erupted from Kara's body. Grace raced over and lifted her so she stood.

I blacked out and woke in darkness. Looking around I saw nothing. Love shall be your name from here on. You are no longer Kara. Girl of the Golden Wings, you bring change, you bring life and most of all you bring… pure spirit. How you use your power will determine how the world shall change.

My eyes burst open back in the temple and I felt things grow from my back. I pushed Grace out of the way and felt the new pieces of myself fully extend. I could see a golden light cast on everything and I looked back to see what I imagined Icaris's wings to look like, though his were a lot smaller, golden feathered wings, that held so much power.

I was finally free to fight for all that I believe without a worry in the world.

I am Love, the Golden Angel.
