Letting yourself hope

Why would you do that?

You know what always happens

What happens every time

That's why you shouldn't hope

Shouldn't believe

So when everything breaks into a million pieces

You won't get cut and bleed out

Not if you don't hope

Don't believe it or dream

It's safer this way

You knew that

Why did you do it anyway?

You knew this would happen

It always does

It's the one thing that never changes

The only constant

Everything else shifts

And changes

And leaves

And you're left broken and bleeding

You always end up like that

Why did you hope?

Wrote this the other day while thing about a close friend who doesn't feel like she's as close as I was stupid enough to get used to her being, but didn't want to post it 'cause I kind of hate it. Yet here I am, after mum brought up something else I tried to ignore (she's on a roll this weekend) I decided I really didn't care how bad it was. So here it is. This is for all you military families out there (and the not-actually-military-but-moves-around-alot-anyway families too) who don't want to get attached to another temporary home with temporary friends but end up doing it anyway. As always, constructive criticism is both encouraged and appreciated greatly. Any and all flames will be used to burn my math homework.
