Chapter 3: Fighting, and More Fighting!

Okay, I think this is where it starts to get a bit better. This one os pretty action packed, hope you like all the ideas!

Oh, and VERY importante: I have changed a lot of things up. I know, I know, I'm really lazy, but I didn't want to rewrite all of it until maybe later.

So, clarification on the powers and new names:

Sue is now Kate. Her power is still molding and crafting the flames. Her weaknesses are limited imagination, and ignorance.

JY is now Kevin. His power is still controlling electricity. His weakness is clouds (There must be clouds for Kevin to call down lightning bolts and such, which represent his more powerful side.)

Daye is now Diana. Her NEW power *gasp* is invisibility, speed, and prowess of ALL martial arts. Her weaknesses: Once she loses concentration, she loses her speed and invisibility. Only her martial arts power is left.

John is still John. :P His power is balance, and influence over luck. His weaknesses: His powers are very limited to certain things, and he depends too much on smarts.

Jeannie is now Jenny. Her power is still control over gravity. her weaknesses: She's very powerful, but she loses lots of energy at the same time. Ferocious too.

A loud snore woke up Kate, Diana, John, and Jenny. They looked at the source of the noise and silently laughed. Kevin was snoring immensely, and the sound was loud enough to wake up the nation. John quietly crept up, and pinched Kevin's nose. Kevin suddenly shot out of his bed, his hair sticking in every direction. "What happened?" he yelled.

The rest couldn't help it. They bust into laughter, and someone pushed Kevin in front of a mirror. "IT'S MEDUSA!" he screamed. He looked back, and realized that his friends were rolling on the floor and laughing at him. "Hey guys," Kevin said with an evil grin. "W-what?" Kate said while choking with laughter. "Never leave your backs open!" Kevin said.

A vicious, bright blue line of electricity shot out of his hands and at the others. "Nope!" John shouted. The electricity stopped, then zipped right back at Kevin. "All out brawl, free style!" Diana yelled out. They all dashed outside and got ready. Kate was immediately covered in a blazing red armor, complete with a sword and a shield. Kevin had his hands crackling with energy, and Diana started to disappear. She quickly moved toward Kate and Jenny. She swiped their legs out from them and moved toward John and Kevin.

Kevin speedily sent arcs of lightning shooting out to where he thought Diana was. He missed, but for a moment, she was visible. 'Interesting,' John thought. 'If she loses concentration, she'll become visible.' He moved toward Jenny, and ran forward to attack her with his sword. "No fair!" Jenny complained. "I don't have a weapon!" John replied, "Welcome to the real world." He struck at her, but suddenly, he flew straight up.

He fell right back down, when Kate sent stars made of fire at Jenny. Diana was slowly beating up Kevin. She was landing super fast kicks, and punched with incredible speed. That is, until Kevin surrounded himself in a halo of sparks, which threw Diana off. John raced over to Kevin, and whispered, "Get Jenny, and then Kate." With a grin, he nodded, and the pair raced toward Jenny. "All right! You guys are dead!" Jenny snapped at them.

With a motion of her hands, she glued Kevin's feet to the ground. Nothing happened for John, luckily for him. Smirking, Jenny levitated in the air, and raised John up too. She threw small spheres of crushing gravity at John, which hit him with the force of an elephant. "You did not just do that," he said. "Too late," Jenny responded.

Under them, Kate and Diana were fighting, while Kevin looked helplessly at them. Diana was losing, because her kicks and punches couldn't stand the blistering heat. Kevin, wanting to end the fight easily, decided to use his move, and tried to call down the mother bolt. Sadly, nothing happened. "What? It should've worked!" he gasped.

John slashed at Jenny, and got a lucky strike. The flat of his blade knocked her on the head and she looked really dizzy. Another blow, and she was knocked out. At the same time, Kate was knocked out, because of one minor detail: She neglected to get a face guard With a powerful roundhouse kick from Diana, Kate immediately passed out.

Clap clap clap. "Bravo!" Mr. Sanchez said. (Formerly Mr. Heat.) "I must say, that was an impressive display of power." He touched Jenny and Kate on their foreheads, and the woke up. "Oh. Its you," she said in a not so happy tone. "Yes. Sorry to break up the fight, but we've got to eat, then train." A flood of kids came out from their cabins and sat down at the tables.

They sat down, and started shoveling food into their mouths. "Why am I so tired?" Jenny wondered. "Weak mind?" Kevin asked in a joking manner. She glared at him, and said, "Not weak enough to glue your feet back to the ground." Then she started imitating Kevin when he was flailing and struggling to lift his feet. Everyone snorted and started to eat more food to cover it up. Diana asked, "When will we fight those trainees at the ETC?"

Kate answered, "Most likely after breakfast. I'd say we have a chance, don't you think?" They nodded enthusiastically, and with a satisfied sigh, rose up from the table. "Look! It's those bullies we met yesterday!" John whispered. The bullies were talking animatedly and were pointing at the group a lot. Diana said savagely, "I'd saw we give them a piece of-" Mr. Sanchez interrupted and said, "It's time to train!"

Groaning, they left the tables and dragged their feet to the ETC. Matt, Lily, Sara, Gina, and Chris were waiting for them. (I assume you know who they really are, isn't it obvious?) "Since you five are new, I'll give you guys a chance to choose who to fight," Mr. Sanchez offered. "I'll take Matt," Kevin said quickly. "Remember, they are all very strong, and as weak as you might think they are, they are twice as strong," the former teacher warned.

Diana chose Lily, John chose Sara, Kate chose Chris, and Jenny chose Gina. "Good luck, you'll do well," Mr. Sanchez said encouragingly.

Jenny's POV

I was still annoyed with our teacher. But anyways, I followed Gina into a large, and spacious room. Perfect. More areas for my trap to work. Gina seemed kind of gangster-ish, yet relatively weak looking. 'This cant be too easy,' I thought. "Right, so we're going to fight. You better be good, I haven't had a decent opponent for years," she taunted. Angered, I fake smiled at her, then crushed a dummy to pulp.

"Eh. Looks weak," Gina observed. Then without warning, she sent long streamers of fire at me. I manipulated the gravity, and sent the streamers rocketing up. Smirking, Gina raised her hand to the sky. Fire balls rained down, and with barely enough time to spare, I protected my self with a gravity shield. Time to go on offensive.

Suddenly, I sent her rocketing up, and tossed her around like a doll. I made little distortions in the air so that the tossing went from mild, to a blender. I could feel my strength draining away pretty quickly. Gina decided to start attacking me, physical style. We had vicious catfights (no joke), scratched each other, and pulled each others hair. We screamed like maniacs, and started another round of hair pulling. (lol)

Except this time, Gina's hands were white hot, and soon enough, the horrid smell of burnt hair filled the room. "Your hair smells worse than a wet dog's fur!" she yelled. "You would know that! Ever wondered why everyone had nose plugs on them when you were around!" I shouted back. "Go back to the hole that you came from!" she screamed. I yanked her hair especially hard, then put her into a headlock. So much for using our powers.

I charged a sphere, and blasted it point blank at her. Gina flew black, and immediately recovered. 'How does she just get up like that every single time?' I thought. "All right," Gina panted. "It's serious time." She spread out her hands, and the temperature suddenly rocketed up. Tornadoes of fire were at her sides, and was pretty much melting everything in sight. I used the gravity to propel me around, which thankfully gave me enough time to dodge her tornadoes Then, a brilliant thought struck me.

I flew around, taunting her, yanking her hair occasionally, (fine, almost every time) and generally making her tire out. I could see my plan working; the tornados were dwindling down to little wisps, and with all my energy, sent a massive gravity sphere at her. We were both knocked down from the explosion that followed. Note to self: Never do that again. Miraculously, Gina managed to stand up, and so did I.

Then we both passed out. When I woke up, Mr. Sanchez was muttering to himself, "Girls will always be girls, won't they? Hair pulling, scratching, screaming." Then, he noticed that I was awake, and said, "Ah, you're awake! Gina is already awake. Since both of you were knocked out, none of you move up, sadly. Now, I want you two to shake hands."

We gave each other our worst death glares, then reluctantly shook hands. Surprisingly, she started grinning. I started grinning too. "Girls. One of the biggest mysteries in the universe," Mr. Sanchez said under his breath. "Shut up!" Gina and I said. We looked at each other, laughed, then ran out of the room, now friends.

Kevin's POV

This was going to be SO easy. Doesn't everyone know electricity is conducted by water? Anyways, I followed Matt into a massive, circular room with no roof. There was pool in the back, which gave him an unfair advantage. When I was going to point that out, Matt interrupted by saying, "I know the pool is there, but I can't make water out of thin air, only masters or the element-"

I pressed him further, but he just shook his head and remained silent. We both grabbed a sword and circled each other tensely. I attacked without warning, but somehow, he blocked it just in time with his sword. I was pretty surprised; I thought this would be easy. Matt brought up a tidal wave and sent it crashing down on me. I just managed to teleport before the wave pounded the metal floor, leaving a huge dent.

I gulped. Electricity blasted out of my hands and threw Matt to the ground. I sent another barrage at him, but he made a shield of water that absorbed the blow. I was beginning to get frustrated. Matt was already a good swordsman, while I barely had a day of training. If I went offensive with my powers, he'd use the water as a shield. Then I remembered: Matt had to have a water source in order to use his powers.

With a smile, I called down a lightning bolt so powerful, all the water was gone, and the ground was sparking. Even my clothes were singed. Matt stood up and said, "Overkill, much?" I grinned and slashed at him, and right when our swords connected, I jolted him through the metal. "Okay, now it's not fair," Matt told me. "I can't use my powers!" I simply shrugged and sliced at his legs.

He managed to jump, flip over me, and almost decapitate me at the same time. "You've SERIOUSLY got to teach me that," I said with envy. Surprisingly, Matt had somehow found another water source, which meant another round of torture for me. Splash. A cold jet of water prayed my face. "What the-!" I yelled. Okay, now I was mad. My hands went crazy with the sword, recklessly striking at my opponent.

Matt smirked and stuck out his leg while I was swinging. 'Oh heck no,' I thought. I tripped and landed on the ground spectacularly. "Sorry, but you're going to get real beating right now," Matt announced. Oh, great. Just what I needed. He brought a ton of water, and made two hands with it. He grabbed me with them a slammed me into the wall. I fell down, groaning.

"Oh, now we're going all out?" I asked with a smirk. I focused as much as I could, and called down the mother bolt. A flash of yellow, and a sound so loud, my ears went deaf. When my vision cleared up, the room was in flames, and Matt was knocked out. Mr. Sanchez came in, and with an amused look, extinguished all the flames. "That was impressive," he commented.

"Matt was our second strongest trainee." Bewildered, I sputtered out, "What?! You never told me?" My teacher shrugged, and said simply, "It was your choice." I sighed and shook my head. I shook hands with Matt and left the room.

John's POV

I followed Sara to the middle of the room. "Right, so you might think air is a weak element, but after this fight you will be wrong," she said matter of factly. She suddenly threw sharp blades of wind through the air at me. They went right around me, and went right back at her. Sara dodged, and charged at me. She sent blasts of wind that made my eyes water, and constantly made me stumble.

I summoned the scales and tipped the bad luck side. A small beam of light touched Sara, and three things happened: Her powers shut off. Two, she tripped and landed roughly on the ground. Three, she couldn't stand up, as if she was glued to the ground. I walked up casually to her and my scales formed into the bronze sword. I was about to put my sword to her neck until she slashed at me with a razor blade made of wind.

I cursed myself for not thinking that my powers would wear off. Sara got up and flew up, and created two vicious hurricanes. She trapped me in them, and started shooting various attacks at me that I assure you, were not pleasant. As I struggled, the hurricanes started to lose power, and with all my strength, I burst free.

This time, I was focusing all my power into the scales. It faintly glowed and a flash of light erupted from it. In my eyes, I suddenly saw a scene where Sara used some kind of move that compressed the room. I saw myself not being able to take the pressure and being knocked out. Was this… the future? While I was distracted, Sara took the chance to fly at me and punch me into the wall. Like, literally into the wall.

When I pulled myself out, there was a little human sized dent in the wall. "Dude, I must have lost a billion brain cells!" I complained. "Not that you'd have any to spare," she muttered. "If I even had brain cells, I wouldn't be wasting them on you," I shot back. A shadow crossed Sara's face. The pressure in the room started to increase, and the room started to fold in on itself. I remembered this scene!

Before the I started to black out, I jabbed my sword desperately at Sara and knocked her out. (I know, it's anticlimactic, sorry!) Mr. Sanchez came in, and I staggered forward. He said, "Congratulations! You and JY so far have won. Jenny and Gina tied, so none of them went up." I smiled, and walked out.

How were the fights? Kate and Diana's fights will come next chapter. Kevin's fight was kinda short and John's too, but I my brain went on lockdown and I couldn't come up with anything... I tried to make the chapter very action filled and cool. Was it?
