You hate her,

You know it.

She doesn't deserve it.

She's broken and lost,

But that's what you resent,

That excuse, that escape.

Why can't you be her?

It's not fair.

She is the picture of

Fucking perfection,

Pristine and pretty and

Soft.

You are hard,

Cracked even,

Ugly.

And yet she is allowed

To wallow in fucking

Self pity.

Poor little girl,

Can't even see it,

Can't even see that she's won.

And that's where it stops

Because she thinks she's

Broken

And lost.

Baby bird fallen out,

Out of the nest of thorns.

You know what it's like

Up there in the world.

It's hard and painful and

Lonely,

But poor her,

She fell.

You stayed, alone,

Getting scratched and

Clawed at.

Leave her be!

She is hurt!

You don't understand!

You understand just fine.

She is better,

More worthy of time and effort.

She will cry and wallow

And bask in her own glory,

While you take flight,

Silently falling into empty air.
