withering away on a mattress
left with only the company of rattling bones and
dancing skeletons, so brittle and bare
i trace my shadows ten times again

i fall through myself, slipping like loose sand
through a childs fingers
inhale the toxins of bad decisions
digesting pollutants from a thick, red, river

every regretful ghost pours out from
between my cracking, dried lips
i feel as if i am flying
but they laugh as i am drowning
