At the end of the day, while Autumn was putting things into her backpack, Nicole came up to her crying. "Autumn, you won't believe what just happened. Audrey said those yoga pants make me look like a cow, then she un-followed me on Twitter. Why does my life have to be so hard!?

Autumn looked at Nicole. Her cheeks were covered in running mascara and she needed to blow her nose, badly. She slammed her locker shut, put her backpack over her shoulder, and walked away.

Nicole jogged after her. "Autumn, wait up, I'm wearing heels! Don't you want me to go to your house or something?"

Autumn turned around. "No, I'm going to the library with Blake." She stopped walking. "Did you..want to come with us?"

Nicole wiped her eyes and smiled. "Yeah, that would be cool." After they had been walking in silence for a while, Nicole said, "You know Autumn, I have a lot more fun hanging out with you than I did with Audrey. She's just like me, it's terrible! So I'm really sorry. Can we still be friends?"

Autumn smiled. "Of course," she said.

At the library, Blake saw Nicole and scowled. "What are you doing here?" he asked her.

"Autumninvited me," Nicole replied quickly. "What are you doing here?"

"I asked Autumn to come hang out with me. I didn't think she would bring anyone with her, and I wanted it to be just us," he said.

"Oh well, I'm here!" said Nicole as she walked past them.

"Why did you want it to be just us?" Autumn said, blushing.

Blake blinked and took a long time to answer. "It's easier to concentrate with less people."

"Oh."

They found a desk and opened their books. For half an hour they sat in silence, reading. Nicole went on her phone, took a nap, then woke up and started looking for hot guys. Finally, she had to give up because there were none. "I'm out of here. This place is sooo boring. And none of these nerds are hot!" She picked up her stuff and left. Blake took her seat next to Autumn.

"I thought she'd never leave," Blake grinned.

"Oh, she's not that bad when you get to know her." Autumn twirled her black and blonde hair and smiled.

"Oh, whatever. Anyway, I wanted to tell you that...I'm really glad that we're friends now."
"Me too," said Autumn. "You're really cool."

Blake pushed his blonde bangs out of his face and smiled. "It's funny, because...never mind."

Autumn looked up at him, confused. "No, tell me."

"It's just that, I always wanted you to notice me...because I like you."
