Prologue

The years spent searching, tracing through countless family lines from one dead end to another dead subject. If scanning person after person and thousands of DNA tests to finally find and answer and a possible subject for that procedure, was inclined to make a geneticist and his assistant jump from one end of the world to another then it almost certainly had the capability to make one excited! Especially with the potential candidate Professor James Nauka had in mind. She was perfect! She even had a relative that had a naturally activated genome! So the possibility of her being a success was about 1in 3 instead of 0 in the last 40 people he had already tried to change.

Bursting with excitement he chartered his own jet for a trip to the land "down under" he need only worry about the UCSF committee nevertheless damn the consequences! After all if one was truly to be classified as a mad scientist one had to do things unethically like taking a 17 year old girl from a family of mobsters and ex-ASIO agents?

Nauka and his assistant the lovely Josette Dubois stepped off the professors white (insert random jet number) jet and took their first steps on Australian soil. Professor Nauka looked around not knowing if the piloting skills –which he had hired her for- had actually gotten them to their destination... Not bothering to be polite as it was above her pay grade "Josette! What is the name of this airport?!"

Josette looked up at the sound of her name and flushed slightly a slight hint of disdain showed in the corner of her eye the professor never noticed of course he was far too up himself. "Tullamarine airport sir it's in the west of Melbourne, Australia." She said this meekly so that he didn't reprimand her with another shouting, he was always yelling at her and because she was rather petite it scared her more but she stood her ground. She was an intelligent woman and secretly she couldn't wait until the professor found his subjects because she had a few technological surprises for him oh yes he would be very surprised!

Just two weeks after Professor Nauka's arrival he was completely listless, he had tried to capture her for weeks but she had far too many advantages like the fact that she was being watched ever second of the day especially by that stupid old man! Athena may have only had a recessive vampire genome but everyone in her family seemed had a natural knack for survival. He had been planning on getting her himself but now he had to resort to desperate measures he had to use his benefactors guards. The conversation with Mr. Dupree had not gone down to well but he had agreed to send some of his personal guard to get the girl so that all he had worked to do in his life was finally perfected. There was also a little surprise for them in the serum thanks to the professor's brilliant assistant; a small nano sized microchip that was programmed to easily attach itself to the spinal column of a patient making them completely docile and unmovable unless otherwise instructed...
