Notre Petit Ange
(Our Little Angel)

written by Savage Enchantress Aurelia
original plot by Raven Wisteria Darkspell

dedicated to my dearest brown-eyed confidant and our fallen angel

Prologue

"If there was a heaven, all the angels would look like him."

As the last rays of the sun fell beyond the horizon, Leanna opened the front door of the Victorian house she shared with her best friend. She breathed deeply the scent of summer flowers blossoming around her front porch. Closing her eyes, she leaned against the doorframe, loving the feel of the cool breeze playing with her golden hair.

A presence at her side took her from her reverie, and she turned her head to see her dark-skinned sister-in-death beside her.

"Raven," she nodded in greeting, looking down the street at the children chasing after each other playfully. "Doest thou see them? So lost in their own perfect world, are they. So innocent on an earth where people go about their cruel lives of persecuting one another over different beliefs, slaughtering the ’wicked’, killing everyone just for the hell of it. I pity the adults they are to become."

The brown-eyed vampiress merely stood silently, already knowing full well what Leanna’s view of the world was. It was best to keep quiet when she went on one of her rants.

"No longer do these animalistic mortals enjoy the simple things this world offers them on a beautiful blue and green platter," the blond one continued, violet eyes taking in the sight of her neighborhood solemnly. A siren began to blare a few blocks away, and she grinned bitterly and looked at Raven. "Hmm, what doest thou think? A ten year old child shot his best friend by accident? A man stabbed another whilst shouting that it wasn’t his fault the light suddenly turned red?" She sighed, taking her friend’s hand in her own. "Let us visit Nicki; he will cheer us up."

Raven smiled at this, eager to see their sweet one. "Yes, let us. If there truly was a heaven, the angels would look like him." How either of them had fallen so completely in love with a mortal boy she didn’t know, but they had. Perhaps it was his eyes that first drew them to him. He could change them instantly from brown to green, or vice versa, or to a combination of them. Or maybe it was his sharp canines, looking so much like the real thing...they most definitely felt like the real thing...

The dark-haired one smirked at that.

Chapter One

"I‘d rather bid him to jump into bed."

"Nicki, come out and plaaaaaaaay..."

A voice slid through the night, directed towards an empty window. The house stood dark and the streetlights were burnt out, leaving only the moon to illuminate the front yard where two women stood. The first -- the one that had called out -- was tall with pale skin. Her eyes were violet orbs in the dim light and her long blond hair cascaded down to her hips. A black, silk gown hung from her body, old-fashioned in its appearance. Her friend wore a similar garment, tapping her foot with mock-impatience. Her hypnotic brown eyes were full of mischief as she looked up at the window.

"Leanna, he comes not! Bid him down immediately!" she said.

"I would rather bid him to bed," said Leanna quietly, thinking her friend would not catch the words. But she did, and grinned.

"He’s already in bed, love," she said, hitting the woman playfully on the shoulder. Leanna returned the gesture and called for Nicholas again.

"Nickiiiiiiiiiiiii..." She drew his name out, making it a childish whine.

"I don’t believe he means to answer," Raven said, looking impatiently up at the window. "What ever shall we do of that?"

The blond one pursed her lips furiously. "Why does my Nicki not answer?" she asked aloud, ignoring the statement of her partner. "The winds whisper to me that he is alive, awake. Why does he answer not?"

"Because he cares not, my friend," the dark-skinned one replied teasingly, but seemed to be ignored again.

"Nicki?" the one with violet eyes asked of the window again. "My sweet Nicholas, where art thou? Join us as we take the night!"

Up in his bedroom, Nicholas turned over, putting the pillow over his ears. But the woman’s incessant voice broke through the cotton, so he stood haphazardly, clothed only in his black boxers, to look out the window. A cool Autumn breeze drifted over him as he stuck his head out.

"Go away," he mumbled tiredly, "and don’t call me that." Having said his piece, he unceremoniously fell back into bed.

"Naughty, naughty Nicki," said the blond outside, clicking her tongue. "We shall have to punish him." She smiled wickedly, showing off a pair of slender, deadly fangs. A moment later they appeared in his room.

Violet eyes gazed upon the sleeping form of the boy. The many candles scattered throughout the dark, gothic room suddenly sprang to life as she reached into her black skirts, but Nicholas did not notice. She retrieved a few pairs of handcuffs as her friend looked on interestedly, and she pounced upon the resting one, limbs moving faster than lightening as she chained him to the four-poster bed. His eyes shot open and he struggled, but it was too late. He was bound, and she sat atop his waist, legs straddling him.

"Get off!" he shouted angrily, but she only smiled at his discomfort. "Lee, get off me!"

"You refused my invitation, mon ange," she whispered silkily. "I had to bring all the fun to you."

"Leanna..." he started, but her head had descended toward his, lips silencing his own. He groaned into her mouth, trying to move away. "Raven!" he asked helplessly of the other woman as Leanna broke off the kiss herself and moved to his neck. The dark-haired vampiress only shrugged at him as the blond kissed her way down to his jugular, grinning as she felt the throbbing vein with her mouth.

"Your heart beats quickly, my love," she murmured. "Do not you trust me?"

"You know --" Leanna’s sharp teeth impaled the skin of his neck and he gasped, swallowing his reply. His hands latched on to her head as she drank, and he writhed underneath her. "Lee," he whimpered when she drew away, reaching for her, begging her to drink again. She smiled drunkenly down at him.

"So sweet the blood of the innocent," she said, licking her top lip clean.

"I’m not innocent," he answered huskily, if it was possible for a thirteen-year-old’s voice to go that low. "You two above all know this."

Raven had made her way over to stand next to the bed. She ran a hand gently down Nicholas’s pale face. "No, sweet one," she said, lips growing dangerously close as she spoke. "You are not innocent." Leanna backed away as Raven’s fangs pierced through the boy’s skin, a few centimeters from where she had bitten him. Nicholas screamed, having been off-guard. Raven rarely bit him so forcefully.

Leanna’s gaze whipped around as Raven continued to drink from her willing victim, eyes landing on the door. "His mother," she growled, jumping from her place upon Nicholas’s chest.

Raven lifted her head just as the door opened, a black-haired woman standing in the opening.

"Nicholas..." she said, looking from her son to the two women, "what...the hell...is going on...?"

The teenager’s eyes were hazy as he looked at his mother. "Umm..." He cleared his throat awkwardly, realizing how bad the whole scene must look. "They were...just...uh... They were just teaching me this really cool thing called bondage. You should try it out sometime!" he said brightly, opting for the comedic approach and chuckling nervously. His mother didn’t seem amused, though, and his laughter died as quickly as it had begun.

"I want these...these...creatures out of here!" his mother ordered, glaring at her son‘s visitors.

Leanna raised an eyebrow. "Creatures?" she asked innocently. "What, pray tell, do you mean by that?" Her fangs slid down to cover her bottom lip, making the woman shriek, backing up a few steps.

"Lee!" Nicholas shouted. "Don’t hurt her!" He yanked on the chains that bound him, screaming for his vampiric love to stop.

Raven placed a hand on Leanna’s shoulder as she was about to advance, and the blond looked at her. With a short shake of her head, Raven looked up into the eyes of the boy’s mother, watching as her eyes grew cloudy. She willed her back into her bedroom with a thought, closing the door behind her as she left.

"Thank you," came Nicholas’s meek voice, and Raven turned to see Leanna back on the bed with him, running her hands down his bare chest, caressing his bruised lips with a gentle finger.

"’Twas enough excitement to last us a millenia, no?" Leanna asked quietly, smiling down at the green-eyed angel beneath her. Nicholas smiled with her, meeting her lips in a brief kiss. After pulling away, she retrieved a key from a small black bag that hung at her waist, and unlocked the cuffs that held him to the bed.

Nicholas got up and opened one of his dresser drawers, fishing out a pair of black jeans and a black T-shirt.

"I rather prefer you unclothed," said Raven with a devilish grin, and he winked at her.

"Yep, I know you do," he said smugly, and pulled the shirt over his head.

"Tease."

Leanna smiled at their familiar banter, meanwhile making her way over to the window, looking out at the town stretching out before them.

"Come, my dear ones," she said, turning back to them. "The night is ours!"

Chapter Two

"We lost our innocence when we lost our superstition."

Lights flashed around the busy city as Leanna, Raven, and Nicholas stood atop one of the tallest skyscrapers, looking down at the mortal world below. The wind whipped their hair in all directions, but they let it flow freely. Leanna entwined each of her hands with her companions’.

"Oh, how we’ve come so far," she said quietly. Nicholas squeezed her hand, knowing how much she hated what humanity had become. He could see her point, but did not bother with taking as depressing a route with the belief as she did. Both of her friends knew of the world’s faults, but they did not prattle on about them. Leanna, however, was obsessed.

"Look!" she said, gesturing with her head to the ant-like people. "We lost our innocence when we lost our superstition. These people take every single thing for granted. They believe that they can control all the mysteries of the universe. Say they believe in God though it’s impossible for them to when they play God everyday. We came from a society that built beautiful stone temples, castles. In those glorious days we lived in fear, fear of the unknown. No longer. They think they are immortal, that nothing can harm them." She glared down at the streets, fangs sliding down. "But we can harm them. We can kill every last one of these pathetic beings..."

Nicholas pursed his lips, a troubled look on his face. Leanna noticed this and broke into a sheepish grin.

"I mean...we could...but we won’t, of course..."

The mortal boy looked over at Raven. "Is she still feeding off only murderers and criminals?" he asked suspiciously.

"Yes," Raven smiled. "You have turned her from the innocent, my sweet. Do not you worry, she is only rambling." For this, Raven received a scowl from the other vampiress.

"Come then," said Leanna. "If you want not to listen to my ‘ramblings’, let us leave." She situated them so Nicholas was between her and Raven, and then led them to the edge.

"Wait...won’t they see us?" Nicholas asked, peering over the edge warily. The blond laughed.

"So wrapped up in their own problems, are they, that never do they look to the skies. They care not anymore." She gripped his hand tightly, looking him in the eyes. "Trust me... I will let no harm come to thee."

Nicholas nodded. "I trust you."

"Good," said Leanna, and they jumped off the ledge at her command. They tore down through the air in perfect formation, and landed softly on the ground.

Raven brought Nicholas’s hand to her mouth and kissed it. "See, ‘twas not so hard."

The boy nodded, and looked around. "What, pray tell my loves, do we have planned for tonight?" he asked.

"Raven wants to see a picture. The Mummy Returns, I believe," Leanna informed him. "The late-night theatre is showing it. Shall we?"

All three thought the movie was rather good. Raven and Nicholas agreed that the fight between Nefertiri and Imoteph’s lover was the best part, but Leanna’s favorite was when the giant scorpion tore the man into four neat, little parts.

"Figures," was all Nicholas had to say to that.

Afterwards, they walked down the sidewalk. It had rained while they were in the movie theatre, and now it was slightly sprinkling. Leanna watched from a few feet behind as Raven and Nicholas skipped down the sidewalk, half dancing with one another. Suddenly, Nicholas stopped in mid-step and called out to her.

"I forgot to tell you the great news!"

Leanna arched an eyebrow interestedly and quickly walked to catch up. When she had, he beamed at her.

"My parents are leaving during summer vacation!"

Raven broke out into a smile. "You kid us, love?"

"No joke! They’re leaving for two months." Nicholas smiled and looked at Leanna. "Does that mean I can go somewhere with you guys? Greece or Egypt or something?"

"But of course, lover," Leanna said, looking at him from under dark lashes. Nicholas stepped closer to her, head cocked to one side.

"Say that again."

"Lover." Leanna let a gentle, seductive smile grace her lips and Raven rolled her eyes. Suddenly, the violet-eyed woman closed her eyes, raising her hands to her temples. When she again looked at her companions, she said, "I am needed elsewhere." When the two nodded knowingly, she continued, "Raven, would you mind putting him to bed?"

Nicholas looked at the dark-skinned one lewdly. "Well, I, for one, don’t mind."
