Tears

Don't let it show

Don't let them see you cry

The hot tears pour down your face

Make you wish that you would die

You tried so hard to hold it all inside

Tried so hard to silence the emotions

But they don't silence and they don't go away

Instead they grow

Making them impossible to hide

Soon others notice the sadness within

Then they watch as the tears fall again

You prayed they wouldn't notice

But they always do

They turn to stare and focus their eyes on you

You wipe the tears away

Try to smile and say that everything is okay

They aren't fooled

They never are

They know that even if you have stopped now

The tears will come again
