What is a smile?
But a sweet facade?
A mask you wear
Until another is made
A smile keeps in
All of the pain and scars
Keeps them behind
Those pearly white bars
Who said that a smile
Made everything all right?
Its just a mask for the world
To keep it all bright
A smile is really
A scream of pain
Taking bad emotions
Into the drain
A smile is just
A mask outside
Pain and sorrow seek darkness
A place for them to hide.
