The tired streets of Oracle were gravely silent in the endless sea of twilight and stars. The echo of childish laughter was void in the air as was the call of venders and poor beggars on the corner of Faith and Hope Street. All doors were uncharacteristically shut and locked in the friendly neighborhoods while windows without pains were boarded off as if abandoned. They grey surface of metal on everything was almost dull of it's shine and interrupted only but a crimson flag painted swiftly across the doors of those visited upon by the tide of disease which plagued the floating city in space. Confined within the rotating metal giant, the daemon walked with death as its shadow and contagion in its breath. Mournful cries broke the silence of the dusk in diminutive gasps as released souls escape mortal flesh before loved one's that looked on. Sliding like a fog over all and engulfing the city in its malady, the plague walked the streets and watched. Watched the corner venders as their veins burst and blood poured from their eyes. Watched the children as they convulsed and spat indefinable liquids as their internal organs were coughed up. Watched as panic struck and violence escalated for people trying to flee their fate. And all the while, two amethyst eyes watched it. Watched it enter one house and leave another. Watched it slither like a snake from division to division of housing and business. Watched with a fluffy pink teddy bear pulled close to their chest and the pink slippers making scuffing sounds as the feet fallowed as if spellbound by a piper. And as all else perished, those two eyes looked on, as dead as the black soulless eyes of the bear they held.
