For the love of my life… if only he knew he were.

Ritual

Face pink,

red raw from

irritated terry-towel

reminds me of a dream

I never dreamt:

With your flickering blues

that rest on my neck;

Your blood sweat -

Red tears

flowing down

my breast -

Your scarlet chest

heaving,

heavily…

We're breathing,

breathily;

Eyelids flutter -

lips purse then,

gaping like a mine shaft

DOWN

DOWN

DOWN

(by the river)

Where we danced the

sacred dance,

And the cinders streak across the sky -

I only ever see the stars

reflected in your eyes.
