A Wave of Darkness

by: Theed

He lured them in, churning the future.

Their jaded fortune was at steak, yet no one knew.

The steel walls of slavery closed in, though no one was summoned.

Yet, only a sliver, a fragment of truth remained, nestled in a lily's pureness.

Surges of violence erupted, stolen from within the consciousness of confusion.

Splashes of blue hope coated their lives, never expecting the best; always fearing the worst.

They cried out for a taste of justice, yet he responded in silence, their voiced not reaching his ears.

Clouds of time passed, and he ruled with an iron fist of fear and corruption clicking at his heels.

Years went by, and the flicker of change frosted the people who only wanted a destination made of them.

Their existence was squashed, for what dreams may come, only nightmares may bring.
