Happiness is but a memory,
Joy is but a dream.
Hope has left this fragile body
Or been lost, as it may seem.
I cannot hope to ever again
Find the elusive sunlight.
I stumble through clouds, aimlessly,
Like a bird in helpless flight.
I wander through this thick, dark fog,
Always helplessly lost.
I trudge along in the deep mud,
On my shoulder weighs a cross.
I feel His pains, of love and hurt;
What joy did He ever feel?
And if He ever shows me,
I will put my hands together and kneel.
With love comes heartbreak,
With touch comes pain.
With hope comes devastation,
With sunlight comes rain.
All is gone, All is here,
Just look around, sunlight is near.
