Author’s Note: I wrote this for school, because I had to write a personification of a vocabulary word. Anguish was one of them. This is very dark. People have told me it is scary. People have told me it is good. Go ahead. Read it. Marvel at my “genius.” Review. Save it. Print it out. Keep it with you every hour of the day. Because it will haunt you... But I’m rambling.
Anguish stormily paced the halls, barely able to restrain an insane scream of pain as the image of his most recent victim appeared in his mind again. As she accused him, “Killed another innocent,” her voice rebounded off of the internals walls in his mind. He incredulously stared at her, noticing her blood-spattered clothing and hair. Of course, he had been the cause of the blood. While he stared, she slowly, but certainly, stepped close and closer to him, and with each step, another of his victims appeared beside her, gathering around him like vultures to a carcass. When they spoke, their ghostly voices echoed painfully as they accused him of homicide, slaughter, assassination, killing, and massacre. Each word echoed in his mind and rang in his ears, as if their voices were already beginning their vengeance. In the morning, Anguish awakened, sprawled out in the hall, gasping for breath, as if someone had tried to strangle him. Desperately, he wished for no more visions, no more images, and no more haunting. Inevitably, he saw the bloody bodies of his victims, despite his cheerful surroundings and his futile attempts to distract himself. Not long after his frightening hallucinations in the night, Anguish began to recognize the pale, incriminating faces of his former prey, their mouths moving as the words “Justice will be served,” reverberated in his delirious mind.
Disclaimer: This is all mine. If you steal it, I will bonk you on the head with a flaming aluminum can and the mad tomatoes will come to your house and massacre you with... yes... you guessed it... the ever-deadly... FEATHER. So beware... beware... Hope you enjoyed it!
