Author's Note: I'd like to apologize for the darkness of this piece... things aren't good right now but as soon as they get better I'll write something happy.

Listen...

Can you hear the echo carrying inside me soul?

Listen...

As the sound of bleeding fills this empty gaping hole

Hemorrhage...

From the butchered walls where surgeons tired to fix my flaws

Nothing...

But a void is left and cuts the depth of dragon claws

Outside...

They tear at me and try to make me someone else

Inside...

My soul contracts to close the gaps and heal itself

In Daylight...

I walk around lost in a cloud of Halothane gas

At night...

I clutch my side and slowly wait for the pain to pass

The flames...

Of candles look like burning moths that singe my hands

The smoke...

Contains my pains and rises up in twisted strands

My blades...

Make slashes on my skin to match the scars I hide

But no...

The pain they bring is nothing like this ache inside

The clouds...

That smear the sky, spread like dragons out to me

I'd like...

To jump this ledge and fly like them alone and free

My mind...

May soar in heavens where only immortals fly

In truth...

My body's here in hell and this is where I'll die.
