*~Footprints of Life~*

At the shore, barely out of the water,
My feet sink slightly into the sand.
I know if I move forward,
My footprint will be washed away, forgotten,
Yet if I stay right there, my shallow footprint also will.
It won't get any deeper,
and I won't be getting home.
I could save this footprint,
If I stay right here.
But I would rather keep walking forward,
Making progress.
If, in life, we stay where we are,
We may make a slight impact.
If we move ahead, the impact is gone,
We have to start afresh,
But we will be making progress
Towards home.

A/N: I thought this up at the beach...please review telling me what you think.
~Heather~
