Okay, these are a couple songs I've written over the past few days for my band's upcoming tape, Peach Tree. We're called the Puffins, and, if I dare say so myself, we kick ass. cackle! Um, anyway. I know when I read song lyrics I like to know what they're about, so I'll leave notes at the bottom of each song, and if you care enough you'll read them.

note This was sooo my friend James's idea. I swear. It was James. All James. Totally his fault. So he sez to me, "Hey, kid, why don't you write a happy song for once?" So I sez back, "Cuz it'd kill me." Anyway, he kidnapped my dog and threatened it with bodily harm until I wrote a "happy" song. This... was the mind-altering result.

note this was a great song for me to write. It felt so good after I got it out. It's not one of my favorites, but it was really cathartic. I was totally depressed and by forcing it out into words, onto paper, some of the anger lost its intensity. I love songwriting. It's not really about anything, just being pissed about people holding me back, deceiving me, cheating me, general uncool stuff such as that.

note this is another happy song! But this one didn't come of any death threats to my dog... I met a guy, and he made me feel really good about myself, so I wrote a song about it. He's one of those really, really, genuinely badass guys, and he REALLY knows how to have fun. ; (And he likes Vast too.. D)

note inspired by the gorgeous songs by VAST "Flames" and "We Will Meet Again." Those are truly beautiful songs. ; I just wrote it because I was thinking about true love and passion and stuff like that. It's the subject for a lot of my songs that I'm too ashamed to show. x.x;

Okay, that's it. I'm sure I'll be posting more. Just as a note to guys who know me personally, we're gonna start recording these songs by the end of Nov. For people at my school, we'll either be in the studio after classes or in James's basement during weekends. Come help! I think I'll also be enlisting So Young's help in artwork and Sarah Max for photography. If you have no life and wish to help, talk to me or something. That's it.
