Ancient Civilization

I live as a princess in a long ago land,
Raven black hair, golden bangles.
The water is the heart of our civilization,
The gods, out holey law.
We build the magnificant structures,
The houses of the dead.
My fathers is fantastic,
On golden Egyptain sand.
In my chamber alone at night,
I pray to the goddess Bast,
She is a beautiful cat, like my pet,
But ordaned.
I pray that when my time comes,
I will be celebrated like my father.
They say that I am to young to worry,
About matters like this.
I am soon to be wed to my cousin,
I last saw him when I was five.
Tonight my Uncle requests of me to dance,
My speciality,
Step - Step - Leap _Sink!
This I was taught for my 9th birthday,
I am now the age of 15.
For my wedding I am learning a new one,
I will be dressed in the finest of silks.
I must go, my calling awaits,
To my land, my calling.
In the future it will be a shadowy ghost.
As all lands shall be.
I really must go, my Uncle awaits.
We will meet again.
