What is trust?

1 So simple a word

Yet so hard to define

And keep

I thought I had found it

As I sought to hold it

But in a single moment

Trust had disappeared

So who could I turn to?

What could I look for?

These questions are rhetorical

No answers could be found

Everyone needs someone

To whom they share their secrets

But if trust is an illusion

Then how will we survive?

There is a darkness inside the heart

That can only be set free

When you've found the one to trust

For eternity

There definitely is no trust

Inside my soul and mind

2 So where exactly is it found?

To this I could not find

It takes more than just your words

To develop things so strong

Your actions helped me understand

That time should take its course

But I have tried to understand

That the anger and the hate

Trust brings along everywhere

You can be deceived

I try to bring some trust

Back into my life

But trust is not a flower

To be picked and kept

Yet like a flower trust is

Beautiful at first

Then it starts to wilt and die

As secrets are spread out

So tell me one thing

Tell me this

Where can I find it

And what trust truly is
