A Soul

What am I?

Lost in a world

1 Of darkness

And despair.

Hatred and killing

Are all around

Yet I put on a mask

And stay happy

But look into my heart

Look into my eye

There you will see

My soul

There you will see

A mass of confusion

Just as I feel

And depression

Any person just might see

A happy, cheerful side of me

But if you delve into my soul

All hopes are trampled there

And as the saying goes

"Your reflection isn't you"

It describes me perfectly

Don't judge me on how I act

After all these events that

Have happened so far

From September 11 to the Afghan

War

2 It all confuses me so

Look into the souls of those

3 Who support these treacherous acts

To most we think "what heinous

minds

But to those it's all just fine

A soul itself holds all true feelings

All your feelings and your thoughts

too

Why cant everyone be happy

Share one peaceful soul?
