Surrounded by people but their voices can't penetrate the barrier that surrounds me

I'm content in my dreamy world where the darkness can never enter

You persecute me for the words I'll never say

The things I'll never do

You try to pull me to you

Open me up

I'm closed forever un-wavered by your touch

You smile and toss your head back naïve to the reality

I'll never be yours

Never be anyone's

You want me to see through your eyes but I only see through these two broken pools

I might have been someone different

If they had never taught me how to hurt

And if every broken promise was a fulfilled wish

But these are mindless dreamings of things to never be

So in my hidden shell I hide from all these things
