Life is for living, Love is for giving
Pain is for sharing and friends are for caring
Blood spills on my wrists
Hurt swims in my eyes
And the bruises grow purple
On the out and inside,
But even in pain I find my release
In the fragments of dreams and the bent memories
Of Dragons and Chocolate
And shadow parades
Butterscotch sundaes and steep silver blades
And no one will know why I catch moths in flight
Or gaze at the stars on a moonless night
Or why I draw Phoenixes blazing the sky
And why I count scar marks that line up my thigh
But all those are pieces that make up my soul
They hold me together they’re what makes me whole
I lick blood off my hands
And draw dragons in class
I breathe in stale air
And live through thick glass
But I know it will clear
Though the world seems opaque
I know I’ll stand straight
Though inside I quake
But if it’s too harsh
Then I’ll take peace with pain
In dragons and blades and moths in flame
