A Fall of Rain

A gray downpour in the dreary sky,

The thunderous clouds with tears pouring from their eyes.

I stare at the rainfall

Showered with cold, wet droplets

Of rain.

The wind begins to howl,

Moaning, wailing

As the torrents spill from the vast expanse

Of dismal sky.

The floods of rain

Beating down on the earth.

Thundering explosions

Of light and sound.

Dazzling my eyes

And resounding in my ears

Like pounding drums.

I scream into the darkness

Calling to the force of the storm.

The raging tempest surrounding me.

I welcome the dangerous darkness

Of the thunderstorm.

The rain coming down faster, faster,

Striking my upturned face

Over and over again.

Wet hair clinging to my cheeks

Drenched clothing sticking to my skin.

Hot tears mingling with cold rainwater

As I cry with the clouds

In the sky.
