My Church
Author:

if you are extremly religous you might not want to read this. It kinda goes along the belief that anne hutchinson had, that we can interpret the bible for ourselves, my poem is about believing in God on your own w/out a church

I worship my own blood

Drink not that of Jesus

The church, the building-

I bear inside all this

I hear the prayers, the priests would say

But in my heart-

I make new meanings

I talk to God-on my own

I need not a church to teach me-

My love for God

I need not to hear stories of his glory

Because I know he is there

Hidden behind the church-

Living inside those who believe.
