Dream

Pray for my soul and know my request

Do not blame yourself; this is my conflict

1 I dream, dream of my final rest.

With the final calm sleep I am obsessed

But what lies beyond, for that I’m panicked

Pray for my soul and know my request.

I am but a young bird just left the nest

Real life makes me feel like if I have been tricked

I dream, dream of my final rest.

I watch my life’s blood trickle down my breast

I can’t help but feel as if I’ve been kicked

Pray for my soul and know my request.

Agony of the mind what I protest

The pain of my body is no verdict

I dream, dream of my final rest.

So now, Father, you who know me the best

Do not blame yourself and do not contradict

Pray for my soul and know my request

I dream, dream of my final rest.
