Yes, another poem. This one is based on a film idea I had the other day, mainly involving an artist named Jacob Ether(played by Orlando Bloom to perfection) and his obsession with a man named Lawson(played beautifully by Alex Nagle). Plus, I had this really funky idea of having Lawson and Cecelia(the "lover" referred to in this poem) kissing passionately against Lawson's door(on the inside) to "She Loves You" by The Beatles; Ether coming along and knocking on the door, Lawson pushing her behind it then watching their interaction through the peephole…. Yeah. This film would be set in the 80s also, making it even BETTER. Hee.

But enough about that. This poem uses a little from "She Loves You", "My Lover's Box" by Garbage(OLD garbage because all new garbage SUCKS!! Except for "cup of coffee" but one good song doesn't make up for twelve bad ones), and "This Charming Man" by(mmmm) The Smiths. I love that song. Does anyone else have any idea what I'm talking about? I'll get back to this poem - I just wrote pomme instead. That means apple. Ether is also a drug. Hee.

Rating - PG-13 for slightly slashy overtones. Hell, if Jacob is OBSESSED with Lawson, isn't it typical that it'd be at least slightly homosexual? Now all I need is money, Orlando, and a setting. I hate my life.

***

Ether

I'd like to take your face

And place it on my wall.

You'd never end up inside

That room of tragic memory,

Your beauty hidden

In a layer of disappointed dust.

My Mother never told me

I could feel this way.

Your Mother always told you

You could never feel this way.

A lover's charms

Can fade forever

In an old attic, or inside

A brittle brown box.

Your lover's charms

Are still sitting

On your bedside table.

I saw her watching us

Through keyholes and looking-glasses.

An embrace feels longer

In her presence.

She loves you, yeah -

But she can never understand us.

With our unspoken words

In an unwritten language.

She can never understand you,

No, not like I do.

My Charming Man,

With his charming face,

Glorious as Adonis,

Great as Alexander,

Gorgeous as Dorian.

I can't go out tonight.

Beg me, beg me -

Step on the crack.

Break the chain.

Cut the strings.

Fall…

I can't go out tonight.

I can't break your mother's back.

I can't tell her no.

I can't slice like a knife…

Beg me, beg me -

And I'll try to catch you when you fall.

Fragile you

Won't break

In my gentle arms.

I only hope they

Don't

Shatter you first.
