A Labyrinth

Made up of false truths and half lies,

Shadowed by the unknown and uncared for,

Chalk full of illusion and smattered with …

Fright, doubt, concern, rage, betrayal …

Self-pity, self-resentment, self-torture …

Love, anguish, jealousy, and hardships.

No trust is sacred, no love true

One end of eternity to the other

What can we hope to learn, to discover, to see?

When all is cast in the harsh glare

Of time, morality, and mortality,

When every turn leads to a dead end,

And the walls are closing in …to whom can we turn?

The trouble with painting everything

Black and white is the shades both between and beyond.

Herded from one trial to another with petty indulgences,

Humor and caring interspersed in smitches …Life.
