There is no peace to find, but in the cold arms of death.

Eyes forever lidded taking the last shuddering breath.

But the eyes are not lidded, the breath is not yet still.

Pain courses through the body, the soul the wound will kill.

Eyesight dimmed but sightless not, limbs stiff and cold but not numb.

Breath is silent but still breathed, the life is not yet done.

Words are spoken but unheard, pleas are uttered with no reply.

Lying still the wounded, wishes to swiftly die.

Tears fall from the heavens, raindrops on the sill,

for the mortal left behind, the soul that did not fill.

Haunted with visions of hurt and death, dreams of torture and pain.

As the soul grows weak with death, and the body lame.

Cold rain falls within, no muscle or thought calm.

No sweet waters quench the thirst, no warming summer dawn.

Grasping for hands that give no warmth, hands that give no years.

Only silent memories, the soul dies in the tears.

Heart grows broken, hope grows dim, the soul falls to an abyss.

But peace envelopes, unnatural such, in Death’s eternal kiss.

Tears fall from the heavens, raindrops on the sill.

For the mortal left behind, the soul that did not fill.

Though the hands do tremble, life they cling to fast.

Hanging on to memories, all left of the past.

Lonely not the bedside, though dies alone the ember.

Forlorn dies the one, that few so did remember.

Gasping breaths are taken, grasping hands for aid.

Though prayers and hopes are taken, no promise can be made.

Soul dies lonely in the tear, weak now grows the hand.

Dark grows now the heart, as dark now grows the land.

Tears fall from the heavens, raindrops on the sill.

For the mortal left behind, the soul that did not fill.

The sun is veiled by cold heart clouds, blocking the last rays.

Cold began and cold will end the final of the days.

But lo! now grows a dwindled hope, light kindled in the eyes.

Whispers call to the fallen, and uttered are weak replies.

Cold and numb still fill the limbs, pale still the skin.

But hope rises in hearts of all, for the felled soul within.

Sleep comes upon the eyes, now gently closed with lid.

greatly did the fallen do, the pain the fallen hid.

Tears fall from the heavens, raindrops on the sill.

For the mortal left behind, the soul that did not fill.

Passed in peace thought those beside, passed in peace they deemed.

Passed with smile upon the face, with peaceful thoughts it seemed.

But haunted still the heart, and in tears died the soul.

Painful to think of what happened, the fallen died in whole.

Fall the tears of those beside, though nothing can de done.

So much grief and suffering wrought from the passing of one.

Cold now lies the fallen, out has gone the ember.

Still now lies the fallen, whom few do now remember.

Tears fall from the heavens, raindrops on the sill.

For the mortal left behind, the soul that did not fill.
