Just a girl

I can't spread my wings and fly

I can't hold my breath forever

I can't judge myself that way

For the worthiest endeavor.

Cause I'm just a girl

Buried under the ruins of my sanity

And I'm just a girl

Expected to save all humanity.

Listen for a while

And you'll know that I've tried

Hear out my plea

And you'll know my hopes died.

Walk a mile in my shoes

And you'll feel the bruises burn

See the world through my eyes

And that sight you will earn.

I can't pick up and move on

I can't ignore the sounds

I can't bolt the door

While the world knocks and pounds.

Cause I'm just a girl

Unaware of all things

Sincerely one of a kind.

And I'm just a girl

For me the bell rings

While I'm going out of my mind.

Supposed to be strong as a rock

Yet delicate as a pearl

But I've shown the world

That I'm just a girl.
