The Race

Running, wind in my face

Shoes hitting the sidewalk

I'm running an important race

The championship is riding on me

Straining my muscles

Going faster than the wind

Passing everybody, I'm in first place

The thought gives me hope

I cross the finish line

The ribbon drags behind me, I've won

All the spectators congratulate me

I'm the star, everyone loves me

Then I wake up

All the love is gone, no more pride

I'm no longer the star

I'm back to being a nobody

I hope the dream comes again soon
