The town was always quiet, except for the occasional gun-fire which would ring out everywhere. There were little more than fifty people in the town at that present minute, and then there were twenty Bio-Mech's constantly roaming the streets looking for humans.
McKay walked along the main-road he remembered as a child, it would always scare him because of the traffic. But now there was no traffic, only dead cars with dead people.
He looked into one of the cars he came by, there was a skeleton holding its neck. Luckily for whoever it was they were gassed and not brutally murdered by the Bio-Mech's, McKay opened the door and dragged the skeleton out and dumped it on the ground.
He then sat in the drivers seat and looked at the keys in the ignition,
"Nice One!" He blurted,
He then spotted that there was a full tank of petrol,
"Doesn't get any better than that!"
McKay started the car and drove down the main road, occasionally he would hear gun-fire and turn around frantically. He would have to get to the town-centre where all the shops were and meet up with the others that he knew from around these parts.
As he got onto the bigger main road he noticed his work again, him and his friends had pushed cars onto the side of the roads so it would be easier to get around.
He smiled and the sun crept in through the windscreen, but then his luck changed.
A Bio-Mech was standing in the middle of the road with a large steel rod, he was still and beckoned to McKay to stop.
"Oh shit!" McKay stated, he revved the car up and drove straight for the Bio-Mech. The pole went straight through the windscreen and straight through the passengers seat, McKay covered his eyes as the glass tinkled down onto him. The Bio-Mech was on the bonnet still attached to the pole, McKay steered with one hand and took his constantly loaded cross-bow from out of his long jacket.
"Get off my car!" McKay shouted now picking up great speed, an arrow shot right at the Bio-Mech and went straight into his eye. The Bio-Mech just looked angrier, he reached for McKay's face.
McKay was at great speed and then he decided to brake, the Bio-Mech flew off the bonnet and rolled along the floor. Dust had flown up into the air, McKay took a deep breath.
McKay wiped the sweat from his head and eyes and looked out in front of his car, the Bio-Mech had gone.
"What the?..."
The Bio-Mech's fist came pounding through the window, it hit McKay badly. He yelped and started driving again, but the Bio-Mech held onto the door and kept reaching for McKay's neck.
Town Centre was now in sight, but he had to get rid of this Bio-Mech.
He pushed his door open as he was driving and it swayed, the door was stretched out far and the Bio-Mech was panicking.
Suddenly the door hit some traffic lights and the Bio-Mech got pushed into the back seats through the window. The door was completely bent in, the Bio-Mech was slightly disorientated and sat up and looked at McKay in the rear view mirror.
McKay took the car up to top speed and started swerving all over the road, the Bio-Mech was thrown all over the back and his head went through the other window.
McKay saw his chance to jump out, onto the nice patch of grass that looked like a soft landing. And straight after the grass was a nice jagged statue, McKay dived out and the Bio-Mech squinted.
McKay rolled along the grass and came to a stop, he then stared as the car flew into some statue. The car shrunk and the petrol tank exploded, the car and statue went up in flames.
McKay covered his head as debris flew everywhere,
"Well, if it isn't McKay with his usual entrance." Came a voice from behind him,
"Hello, Jonathon!" McKay said standing up after recognising the voice, Jonathon was a short podgy guy with lots of facial hair.
"What was all that about?" Jonathon asked,
"A Bio-Mech, hung onto my new car. But now he's toast, so...where the rest of them?" McKay asked,
"Just follow me..." Jonathon said.
