Ahh…another poem. This is dedicated to all my friends who had their hearts broken and to those who are still wishing. I know it’s a little late but hey, it’s love.

Love – the Other Hard Pill to Swallow

Love

It sucks.

It kicks you in the stomach

Puts sweat all over the hands

Wrenches the heart tightly

Blurs your mind with haze

Echoes through your head

Intoxicates your scents

Draws you away from reality

Love

It’s sad

Lovers in the park

Couples at the beach

Holding hands

Kissing faces

‘Lovey dovey’ ‘touchy feely’

A façade

Valentine’s Day

The worst day of the year

An excuse for husbands to make it up to wives

An excuse to pig out on chocolate

A way for candy companies to steal your money

The one day to celebrate love

Out of the other 364

Love

One word

So many meanings

So many reasons

So many hearts broken

So many hearts lost

Love

Can’t live with it

Can’t live without it

It makes the world spin

It makes the soul live on

All I can say is

"Stupid cupid"

Read. Review. Don’t kill me. I’m a cynical person.
