This weekend I tried to turn back the clock
to see if it worked for a while.
I went back to the things I'd used to do
and I even managed to smile.
Briefly it seemed I had done it
but I should have known better I guess.
You can't repeat a moment in time
a shadow is all that's left.

And shadows fade at nighttime
so swift now they retreat
I tried to turn the clock back
but darkness has me beat.
